2010-07-22: IVS-PowerPoint 1.1.7

Early June, Microsoft released a security update for Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007. This update had consequences for IVS-PowerPoint. After installing this update, IVS-PowerPoint could no longer show the results in the graphs of the slide show. Only after ending the slide show, the results were shown in the graphs.

Now there is a new version of PowerPoint IVS to fix this problem. This new version is also compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint 2010. You can download the new version at the download link in the menu.

2010-04-27: IVS-Lite Keypad Tool

There is a new tool for download on the site.
With this tool you can see the following information of the Lite keypad: ID, version number and battery status.

2010-01-07: IVS-PowerPoint

We are proud to announce that we are already over 1 years working with IVS-Powerpoint.
IVS-PowerPoint is an add-in for Microsoft PowerPoint that combines the interactive capabilities of IVS with the presentation capabilities of Microsoft PowerPoint.
Using the toolbar that IVS-PowerPoint adds to Microsoft PowerPoint, you can add interactive elements to your PowerPoint presentation, such as a question, an answer block and a result diagram.

2008-06-05: IVS IN THE NEWS IN GERMANY

In Germany our customer prof. Dingermann was interviewed by the German television RTL-news.

He uses the IVS for his students at the Frankfurt University to support the study. It involves them in the given lectures and makes them participate more actively.

 

2008-02-06: NEW! IVS-Lite

Presented for the first time on the ISE-fair in Amsterdam January 29 - 31.

IVS-Lite is the new IVS version.

Reliability and high quality were, as usual for IVS products, the basis for the development of this new type keypad.

2007-07-26: New software version

We admit it: It took longer than we and probably you wanted, but finally we are done. The new version of IVS is ready.

Especially in the IVS-PRO version quite some extra options where added:

• Possibility to link to PowerPoint
• Actions can be associated with a text object
  
• Possibility to insert animated and transparent GIFs as well as transparent and semi transparent PNG images
  
• Answers can be grouped which means that choosing a certain answer excludes another answer
• When the computer is connected to the Projector you can see the edit screen on your computer and yet show the presentation screen projected
• Information in the status bar such as number of votes, weight etc can now be separately switched on and off
• Compatible with Windows Vista

The new version is available in 5 languages.

2007-05-24: IVS for Commerzbank

Last Wednesday was the first time the shareholders meeting of the German Commerzbank used IVS to perform their voting. Last year IVS was used for the first time during the shareholders meeting for Nordzucker in Braunschweig. 1200 shareholders attended this meeting.
The shareholders meeting of the Commerzbank counted 3000 participants!

IVS supports these meetings together with Haubrok from Germany. The data from Haubrok's database are linked with IVS, after which the voting can take place.

After this exciting, but smoothly run meeting there will be some more meetings for Beru, Indus and again Nordzucker.

2006-11-22: Student Elections indicate results for Elections?

Yesterday again there were elections for students in the Netherlands as today the "real" elections take place for the Dutch Lower House. The results can be found on http://www.scholierenverkiezingen.nl (in Dutch).

The Dutch Labour Party is the big winner for the students. However, the Socialist Party is very close with only 1% less votes. Both the Christian Party and the Liberal Party loose a few percent. There is quite some support for the right wing party of Wilders and according to the studends, the Party for Animals will be in the Dutch Lower House as well.

Over the past few months IVS has radically changed the applicaton for Student elections. All old results were collected and classified together with the digital results of the last 5 years. Only the oldest results of 1963 were so global that they did not offer enough information to be put in the database. From 1977 on the results of each election are available and can be compared.

IVS has been supporting the Student Elections from 2002 on.

2006-09-21: Shareholdersmeetings in Germany

Since last summer Haubrok in Germany uses the IVS to support shareholdersmeetings. Haubrok already has several years of experience and they support some 100 shareholdersmeetings every year. A growing part is supported by electronic voting. Based on the experience that already exists in the Netherlands with use of the IVS during shareholdersmeetings Haubrok has asked IVS if it would be possible to combine their own registration software with the IVS software. This had to be done within two weeks. During the first meeting with 1200 shareholders everything went smoothly. The results of the voting can be found as pdf file on:

In the meantime a second shareholdersmeeting has taken place too. This one too was very succesfull.

2006-06-15: software 4.3.4

Did you know that since May the latest software version 4.3.4. went live!! When you download the software, you will automatically receive this new version.
Some new features are:

The toolbars in the edit screen and presentation screen remember their position. If you rearrange the toolbars, close the application and then start it again, the toolbars are still at the position where you left them.

When in the presentation screen, you can press the .(dot) key to display a black screen. Press the .(dot) key again to display the normal slide again.
You can also press the , (comma) key to display a white screen.

Added more shortcut keys in the presentation screen. You can now also use the right arrow, down arrow, Enter and Space key to go to the next slide and the left arrow and the up arrow to go to the previous slide. You can also use the keys on the numeric keypad, even if NumLock is turned on.

2006-06-13: election list for berlin council voted with ivs

At the general meeting of the Berlin Grünen, the IVS system is used to vote for the order of the election list.
On April 1st 650 members chose their Election list for the Berlin council. By changing the way of voting from manual to using the IVS system the "Grünen" took a big step forward. Based on this step they save a lot of time and money.
Because of all the years of experience, IVS could provide a simple, flexible and reliable solution. The organizing commitee of the "Grünen" was very enthusiast about the offered solution.

2006-06-13: new lecture-room of university regensburg (germany) equipped with ivs mountable system

Since March 2006 the new lecture-room of the medical faculty of the Regensburg University has been equipped with an IVS system. Approximately 300 seats were equipped with stainless steel keypads that can be used in combination with the latest multimedia technics.
Medical cases can be presented and the students are involved in these cases. The student can place himself into the role of the doctor. With the help of the voting system, the students can interactively participate and help finding the solution of the case.
Voting systems, that have almost become a standard in lots of international training facilities, contribute to a better understanding of the material. There is a thesis that proves that only writing down and listening is less effective in the learning proces. Having the students answer the questions in an interactive way in combination with the Peer Instruction (This method encourages the students to discuss the solution with each other) offers better results.

2006-06-13: students vote for

Yesterday the elections for students were organized again in the Netherlands. This time the students could vote for the city councils. Preparation therefore was far more complex then usual both for the IPP (Institute for Public and Politics) and for Interactive Voting System. For each school a list of available parties had to be defined for the city council and in a lot of councils there where combinations of different parties. The students however did not notice this fact yesterday when casting their vote. 60.000 students could cast their vote and almost 30.000 really expressed their votes.

The Labour Party was the absolute winner among students. Usually the outcome of the Student election is a very good indicator for the outcome of the elections the next day. Students often vote a bit more extreme but for sure it gives an idea!

2006-06-13: nspm in barcelona

Last February 25th and 26th a congress was held in Barcelona organised by our Swiss customer NSPM for a group of 850 persons. IVS was used for this event. The opinion of the audience concerning treatment was asked and combined with a reference question to get an insight in the results per group.

2006-06-13: arabic ivs

From now on the software for the ivs^® system is also available in Arabic. The help file and the manual are not yet translated but all menus in the software are.
IVS-Basic, IVS-ID and IVS-PRO are all three available in Arabic.
